Project:
REMOVAL AND REINSTATEMENT OF FIRE-DAMAGED STORAGE FACILITY WITH STRUCTURAL SUPPORT FOR FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM - STRUCTURAL REPAIRS, MODULAR CONCRETE, STRUCTURAL STEEL

A Buckinghamshire County Council household recycling centre experienced a fire in a materials storage bay, damaging the concrete L-block panels of the structure. These panels required removal and replacements installing.

Red Leaf Group was able to provide a fast response service, quickly arriving on site to dismantle and safely remove the damaged concrete L-blocks. New panels were then installed to reinstate the materials storage bay. To prevent further incidents of this nature, it had been decided that a fire suppression system was required, to be installed on a supporting steel framed system above the concrete bay. With a structural design as yet undecided by the client, we were able to offer effective advice for this critical steel frame, delivering a final design that was tailored for the budget and functionality requirements of the project. The team then fabricated the necessary steel components, ready for delivery to site. Installation was handled by Red Leaf Group’s skilled steel erectors, equipped with all lifting and access equipment required to perform a safe, efficient assembly. The project was completed with the addition of netting to the bays for added containment.

The swift response by Red Leaf Group meant that this damage had minimal effect on site operations. Innovative design ideas allowed for an efficient, effective solution that was fabricated to the required specification and installed on schedule.
